Based on the well-known fairy tale by Charles Perrault, the Walt Disney’s animation “Cinderella is the twelfth production by the Disney studios in full length animation series, premiered in 1950. The film proved to be a financial and critical success, having thus saved the studio from the difficult financial situation, and number of film historians and critics consider this as one of the best examples of American classical animation. The film won the Golden Bear Award in the category of music films at the 1st Berlin Film Festival, and throughout the history it has been repeatedly nominated to the American Film Institute’s list of the best American films.
