The film “Dallas Buyers Club” is a real story about electrician and hustler Ron Woodroof, who works around the system to help HIV/AIDS patients get the medication they need after he is himself diagnosed with the disease in 1985 in Dallas.
The film won three Academy Awards, including Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor; it was awarded the Golden Globe Awards in the same two categories.
