“Good Will Hunting” is a 1997 movie directed by Gus Van Sant and written by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, the latter also playing the lead role alongside Robin Williams. Will Hunting is a boy genius who was severely abused as a child and has been in trouble with the law ever since. When Will finally agrees to get counseling to keep himself out of jail and with his girlfriend, he meets Sean, the therapist who will change his life.
At the 70th Academy Awards Robin Williams won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and the writers Ben Affleck and Matt Damon won the Best Writing (Original Screenplay) award. The duo also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Screenplay the same year.
