Erasmus+ "Handicrafts as the Cultural Code of a Region" (02–08 August 2026)
From 2 to 8 August 2026, an eight-member group from Narva Central Library – six library users and two accompanying staff members – took part in an Erasmus+ learning mobility in Lithuania. The theme of the mobility was "Handicrafts as the Cultural Code of a Region."
Throughout the week, the participants explored Lithuanian handicraft traditions, visited museums, took part in practical workshops, met local artisans, and exchanged experiences in an international environment. They also met participants from Lithuania, Colombia, Malta, Poland, Türkiye, Egypt, and several other countries. In addition to gaining new knowledge and practical skills, the participants strengthened their English communication skills and returned home with many new ideas for creativity and future community activities.
The mobility was carried out as a green travel activity, with the group travelling to Lithuania by train to promote environmentally friendly mobility. We sincerely thank our partner IVAIGO for their warm hospitality, excellent organisation, and inspiring programme, which made this learning mobility a valuable and memorable experience.
The results of the project will soon become visible in Narva Central Library, where the participants will organise handicraft workshops and share the knowledge and inspiration gained during the mobility with the wider community.
